All candidates for a WRHS sports team must have a completed Green Card and proof of physical. The Green Card may be downloaded, completed at home, and returned to the main office. Beginning with the fall 2011 sports season, students must also present a signed Concussion Law Awareness form to their coaches. The form must be signed by both the student-athlete and his/her parent or guardian. Students who do not present these signed forms to their coaches will not be allowed to participate in tryouts/practice sessions.

Playing a Winter Sport at Wachusett Regional High School

Playing a high school sport requires of students tremendous dedication. Athletes at the varsity level make a huge commitment of time, effort, and energy. This commitment comes on top of their primary focus on their academic classes. Students who choose to play a winter sport should be aware of the expectations of their chosen sport. All winter sports teams begin practice the Monday after Thanksgiving and continue until March. At the varsity level, most teams practice on weekends and during school vacations, including during the holiday and February breaks. In addition, athletes are often expected to take part in off-season workouts and in-season conditioning sessions. Wachusett Regional High School encourages students to play a sport and get involved in extracurricular activities, but we want everyone to be aware of what is involved. Linked to each sport below are the expectations for that sport. Parents or athletes who have questions should contact the coach of that sport.
