Playing a Spring Sport at Wachusett Regional High School
Playing a high school sport requires of students tremendous
dedication.
Athletes at the varsity level make a huge commitment of time,
effort, and energy. This commitment comes on top of their primary focus
on their academic classes. Students who choose to play a spring sport
should be aware of the expectations of their chosen sport. All spring
sports teams begin practice in March and continue through June. At the
varsity level, most teams practice on weekends and holidays and during school
vacations, including during the April school break. In
addition, athletes are often expected to take part in off-season
workouts and in-season conditioning sessions. Wachusett Regional High
School encourages students to play a sport and get involved in
extracurricular activities, but we want everyone to be aware of what is
involved. Linked to each sport below are general information and the expectations for that
sport. Parents or athletes who have questions should contact the coach
of that sport.
Students in all sports must complete a Green Card and undergo a physical examination before they will be allowed to play.SPRING SPORTS Varsity
