Playing a Fall Sport at Wachusett Regional High School
Playing a high school sport requires of students a large commitment. Athletes at the varsity level make a tremendous commitment of time, effort, and energy. This commitment comes on top of their primary focus on their academic classes. Students who choose to play a fall sport should be aware of the expectations of their chosen sport. All fall sports teams begin practice before school begins in August, and at the varsity level, most teams practice on weekends and school vacations. In addition, athletes are often expected to take part in off-season workouts and in-season conditioning sessions. Wachusett Regional High School encourages students to play a sport and get involved in extracurricular activities, but we want everyone to be aware of what is involved. Linked to each sport below are the expectations for that sport. Parents or athletes who have questions should contact the coach of that sport.
Students in all sports must complete a Green Card and undergo a physical examination before they will be allowed to play.
